Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of hydatidiform mole diagnosed by transvaginal ultrasound examination in the first trimester. METHODOLOGY: 1936 tests performed from December 2013 to July 2014 in the Fertile Clinic were analyzed. The studies were performed in a two-dimensional mode with vaginal dynamic equipment in the frequency of 5.0 MHz by different examiners. RESULTS: There were two abnormal tests with classic signs of hydatidiform mole. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of hydatidiform mole diagnosed on first trimester ultrasound was 0.15%.
