Abstract

Doctors have been experiencing the need to adapt their daily practice to the new information and communication technologies, not yet fully assimilated by both professionals and patients, currently intensified by the new coronavirus pandemic. Amid the search for the conciliation between humanized assistance, agility, and quality of health services, the skepticism of these professionals in relation to the pressing and unquestionable reality still seems to prevail. A wide discussion is required, not only about the technical aspect of this tool, but also about the ethical and humanistic issues involved in the doctor–patient relationship in the digital age.
