Abstract

The optic disc melanocytoma is a benign tumor, with little predisposition to malignant transformation to melanoma. It is usually asymptomatic, but should be regularly assessed with tests, one of them being automated perimetry to be altered in 90% of cases. We report the case of a 61 years old man without previous diagnosis of melanocytoma of the optic disc. Discusses the importance of a differential diagnosis with melanoma and serial monitoring of the patient.
