Abstract

INTRODUCTION: A complete hydatiform mole is formed from an ovule without chromosomes impregnated by a spermatozoon that reproduces by parthenogenesis, being, therefore, diploid.
CASE REPORT: A 32 years old patient, attended on a public hospital of brasilian Centro-Oeste presents signs of preeclampsia, with spontaneous expulsion of the fetus and a material morphologically like hydatiform mole.
DISCUSSION: The diagnosis of fraternal pregnancy with hydatiform mole is complicated by the existence of a viable fetus. In this case, cytological and anatomopathological exams confirmed the diagnosis suspicion.
