Objective: This study aims to analyze the percentage of normal deliveries with analgesic use performed at the Hospital and Maternity Dona Iris (HMDI) between January 2013 and April 2016. Methods: A retrospective study of the data on labor analgesia performed at the HMDI Normal Birth Center, contained in hospital records, covering the period from January 2013 to April 2016. Results: In the year 2013, there were 1495 deliveries performed at the HMDI Normal Delivery Center, of which 31.20% were performed using analgesia. By 2014, total normal deliveries were 2034, and analgesia rates were 8.90%. During the year 2015 the number of normal births continued to increase, with 2597 normal births taking place in the Normal Birth Center, of which only 5.30% received analgesia. In the period from January to April 2016 there was a significant increase in the total number of births recorded, 1082 of which 2.77% was performed with analgesia. Conclusion: Analgesia rates during normal labor in HMDI during the analyzed period were significantly reduced.
