About the Journal

The Goiana Journal of Medicinae (Revista Goiana de Medicina/RGM) was launched in July 1955 by the renowned Dr. Joffre Marcondes de Rezende, it became an important scientific dissemination tool for the medical profession in the State of Goiás, soon gaining national and international relevance. His success was achieved due to his publications and articles involving discoveries related to Chagas disease, yellow fever and various intestinal parasites.

The magazine was published uninterruptedly from 1955 until 1998, and after a period without new editions it was published again in 2010. From the year 2024 it began to follow the flow of continuous publication and adopted the open access system, as a way of give greater visibility to the local medical community.
