Uso de cannabis medicinal no tratamento da dor em fibromialgia

A dor afeta milhões de pessoas no mundo todo, impactando na qualidade de vida, tanto na forma física como em fatores psicológicos, emocionais e espirituais. A fibromialgia é uma síndrome crônica que é manifestada por sensibilidade extrema nos chamados “tender points” e ainda sem muita opção de tratamento farmacológico. Dessa forma, o uso de canabidiol tem se tornado uma opção para tratamento da dor crônica. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar o caso de uma paciente, sexo feminino, com dor músculo esquelética crônica, que foi tratada com diversos medicamentos para dor e antidepressivos. Após aplicação do Índice de Dor Generalizada (IDG) e Escala de Gravidade de Sintomas (EGS), a paciente iniciou tratamento com canabidiol. Para confecção do estudo, foram utilizadas informações provenientes do formulário do paciente. Os resultados no tratamento com canabidiol demonstraram efeito positivo tanto na intensidade da dor quanto nos demais sintomas da fibromialgia, uma vez que esses compostos atuam de forma similar aos endocanabinóides endógenos, no sistema nervoso central e periférico, atuando nos receptores CB1 e CB2. Portanto, o uso de cannabis no tratamento de dor vem sendo uma opção promissora para essa doença, além de reduzir demais sintomas associados à fibromialgia.
